FAQs

Where do I find your vacancies and how do I apply?

Please apply by visiting the vacancies page on our website and complete an application form (at the bottom) in full with a personal statement of no more than two sides of A4 outlining how you meet the person specification.  Applications should be sent to hsjobapp@highlearn.uk

When should I apply?

Each vacancy will have its own deadline for applications and no more will be accepted after 9am on the day specified.  We will consider applications upon receipt so recommend you apply immediately if interested in the post.  We reserve the right to close the vacancy before the published closing date.

What information should I include on the application form?

  • Person details

  • Eligibility to work in the UK

  • NI number

  • Qualifications

  • Education history (from secondary school)

  • Employment history (after leaving education)

  • Notice period and availability to start work

  • Supporting statement

  • 2 referees with contact details and their relationship to yourself

  • Data consent and safeguarding declarations

  • Equality and diversity details

Please complete the appropriate application form in full if you wish to apply for a position on our website as we do not accept CVs.

We provide the details and requirements in terms of relevant skills, knowledge and experience of all our advertised positions in an applicant pack.  We recommend that you download these and save them for your own reference as the packs will be removed from our website when the application deadline closes.  For your supporting statement, please provide details of your relevant personal skills, knowledge and experience, in line with the job description and person specification and include evidence of where you made an impact through your own actions in your current role.

What happens when I apply?

You will receive an email confirming receipt.  If you do not receive an email and have checked your spam folder, please do contact us to check using the contact details in the advert.

We aim to shortlist for an interview within a week of the application deadline.

Please be aware that due to the large number of applications we receive, we will only contact you if your application is successful during the shortlisting process.

Can I withdraw my application if I change my mind?

Yes. Please email hsjobapp@highlearn.uk or contact the HR Officer on 020 8370 1100 to withdraw your application.

What happens if I am called for interview?

If shortlisted, you will be contacted with the date and time of arrival, who to ask for and anything else you may need to prepare in advance.  On the day, you will be provided with a programme for the day and other relevant information.

The school will contact your referees to obtain references, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance before you attend the interview, unless you state otherwise on your application form. The school will also carry out an online search as part of its due diligence on shortlisted candidates, so we will request your usernames for all social media platforms.
