KS3 Art

Homework tasks:

Homework tasks are varied in art. 

Some tasks are started in a lesson, to be finished for homework, such as:

  • Project theme title pages

  • Observational drawings

  • Material studies (usually using colour pencil)

  • Design drawings

Other tasks set include:

  • Researching, and printing off images linked to the project theme

  • Artist analysis sheets

  • Copying an image worksheet

  • Completing a technique worksheet

Resources:

All homework is set via Google Classroom, with an attached slide presentation for students to refer to for instructions and examples.

Worksheets and handouts.

Frequency:

Once a week.

Support:

We model techniques and embed “how to” videos.

Additional information

We supply “step by step” worksheets for those students who need extra support.

KS4 GCSE Art

Homework task:

All homework tasks are set following on from tasks started in lesson. All work produced by students in lesson and at home, will be entered for one of the four OCR examining board assessment objectives (AOs) and is part of the GCSE.

Homework includes:

  • Artist copies and information pages (AO1)

  • Observational drawings (AO3)

  • Material studies & compositional designs (AO4)

  • Final pieces (AO4)

Resources:

Students are issued with a booklet, containing a breakdown of each lesson and the homework set. Specialist vocabulary, how to annotate and writing about artist examples are included, as is the OCR assessment criteria and assessment sheets for each assessment.

We work from slide presentations in lessons (which are shared on Google Classroom after each lesson/weekly) which contain instructions, examples and videos/modelling.

Frequency:

Once or twice a week, depending on the lesson and task set.

Support:

We offer after-school intervention sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Students are given individual feedback and personalised “to do” lists.
