Leadership
Highlands school is committed to promoting learners' personal development. We want all of our students to have the opportunity to develop leadership skills. Consequently, students have the opportunity to apply for one of the following roles:
-
Peer mentors who provide pastoral support to younger students
-
Academic tutors who provide one on one tuition to younger students
-
Student LSAs who provide in class support to younger students
The school has a student council composed of students from each year group. The Sixth Form executive committee which includes the head students lead the student council. The student council meets fortnightly, with a member of SLT to lead on promoting positive changes in the school. Members of the student council receive relevant training on student leadership and how to make a positive contribution to the school community through the student council.
